US Senate Endorses Renewable Fuels Tax Credit For 'Big Oil'

In a close vote late Wednesday, the Senate thwarted an attempt to block oil refiners that produce renewable diesel fuel from enjoying a $1 per gallon federal alternative fuel tax credit. Biodiesel companies have argued that oil companies are unfairly seeking to take advantage of a two-year-old federal tax incentive.
