I would gamble early and start my aces on short rest early. The best advantage the Cardinals had was that they were still in "playing mode" through their 7 game NLCS, whereas the Tiggers were dormant. Why not come at them with everything you got, right away, instead of rope-a-doping them, and trying to outlast them?

We'll see if this strategy will work. It worked in Game 1, but it remains to be seen how guaranteeing 2 starts for Reyes or Weaver in a 7 game series would be to your advantage if you are only going to see your 2 best pitchers twice if the series does go 7.
