Wisconsin keeps Paul Bunyan's Axe!

Wisconsin beats Minnesota 38-34! What a crazy finish!

Wisconsin had scored a TD on a pass from John Stocco to Brandon Williams with a little over 2 minutes remaining in the game. This made the score 34-31 Minnesota. On the catch, Brandon Williams was grabbed by the facemask. This put 15 yards on the ensuing the kick-off for the Badgers.

On the kick-off, the Badgers onside kicked it. The kick caroomed off either a Minnesota or Wisconsin player, and the ball bumbled down the field towards the Minnesota endzone, recovered by a Minnesota player.

Minnesota's offense then ran the ball three times in a row, with the Badgers spending a time-out after 2nd down. After third down did not result in a first down, Glen Mason, coach of the Gophers, waited for the clock to tick down, before calling a time-out of his own with about 38 seconds left. He then sent out his punting unit.

On the 4th down play, Minnesota's punter dropped the snap. He then scrambled for the ball, picked it up, and attempted to punt it while running. Jonathan Casillas blocked this punt attempt, and the ball then caroomed into the end zone, where it was later recovered by Ben Strickland for a Wisconsin touchdown! The fans were going crazy. Wisconsin was now winning 38-34, with 30 seconds to go.

Then, the Badgers had to kick-off. On the kick-off, the Minnesota kick returner fumbled the ball, and it was recovered by Wisconsin! After one kneel down, the game was over! Badgers win 38-34! The axe stays in Madison!
