Packer's magic eight ball: outlook not so bright

The Green Bay Packers insisted all off-season that they weren't a team in decline. The national publications don't agree.

Of five national football magazines Packer Plus recently sampled (Pro Football Weekly, The Sporting News, Athlon's, Street and Smith's, and Lindy's), only one has Green Bay headed to the post-season - and that's as a Wild Card team. All in all, the three-time NFC North Division champion Packers are picked second by two publications, third by two and last by one.
The consensus is that free-agent losses and a shaky defense will doom Green Bay this fall.
